Rowena Irani: An Amazing Soul Whose Life Was Cut Short
Children at the Wichita Children’s Home all loved her and miss her terribly
For Officer Rooshad Irani, it was a milestone moment—the day he realized his dreams had come true. He had just graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in criminal justice and was eager to enter the workforce. His ambition to join the police force was finally realized on October 3, 2014.
He now associates that day with nothing except sadness. Rooshad Irani had worked for the Derby Police Department for two years before receiving a call for which neither his academy education nor his years of experience in law enforcement had prepared him.
Rowena, his younger sister, was attacked at their family home on October 3, 2016.
The man who murdered his sister arrived at the Irani home at 1 p.m. and parked around the corner.
“When he realized she was at home, he walked in through the front door, and as she rounded the corner, he raised the gun and shot her in the head.”
The murderer snatched her phone and fled out the rear exit. At least three hours passed without anyone providing Rowena assistance. A day later, she passed away.
